Payment
A deposit of 40% of total safari cost for (Kenya only safari tours) is required at the time of booking confirmation and balance being payable at or before safari start.
A deposit of 50% of total safari cost for (Kenya / Tanzania combined tours) is required at time of booking confirmation and the balance being payable at least two days before safari start.
You may also choose to pay full safari amount at booking confirmation if you prefer.
All payments made will be acknowledged with an official receipt from Tropical Cats Tours.

Our goal is that every traveller has an experience that exceeds their expectations. As we deal in a world of circumstances that are not always in our control, we wish to ensure you are aware of your rights and what we will do to make sure your trip goes smoothly.
Alteration by the customer to a confirmed booking whilst in Kenya
We regret no credit or refund is possible for any unused services provided in the cost of your safari/excursion or accommodation. If you decide to alter your travel arrangements whilst in Kenya this is your own responsibility and neither Tropical Cats Tours nor our agents are responsible for any extras or difficulties that may arise with your booking as a result of such alterations.
Cancellations by the customer
Should you, or any member of your party, wish to cancel your booking at any time please notify us immediately. If we have already issued a Confirmation of Booking it is essential you indicate your intention to cancel in writing. This instruction to cancel must be signed by the person who signed the booking form. We will not affect the cancellation until such written advice is received. Any cancellation will incur a charge payable by you to compensate us for our estimated losses and expenses. These are shown in the table below calculated as a percentage of the total holiday cost of the person or persons making the cancellation, excluding insurance premium.
Cancellation Charges – We regret that obligations to our suppliers require us to impose cancellation fees should you decide that you are not able to continue with your booking. We recommend you take travel insurance to cover these expenses.
Our fees are:
- If cancelled more than 60 days before the start of services – Loss of deposit
- If cancelled 60-46 days before the start of services – Pay 30% of total service value
- If cancelled 45-29 days before the start of services – Pay 50% of total service value
- If cancelled 28-15 days before the start of services – Pay 75% of total service value
- If cancelled 14-1 days before the start of services – Pay 100% of total service value
- If cancelled on the arrival date (no show) or after – Pay 100% of total service value
Alterations By Tropical Cats Tours
The arrangements agreed in your itinerary may be subject to changes caused by a variety of reasons, including weather and road conditions. Many of these changes are very minor in nature and should not affect the overall enjoyment of your trip. Where they are more significant, and known in advance, we will do our best to advise you prior to your departure
Important Note
Compensation payments will not be made for changes caused by reason of war, threat of war, riots, civil strife, terrorist activity, strikes or other industrial disruption, natural or nuclear disasters, fire, quarantine, epidemics, pandemics, weather conditions, government action at home or abroad or any similar event beyond our control.
